Medicago sativa
Offers high yields of quality protein pasturage for direct feeding, fodder, and drying for hay. It is primarily grown in corn, beet and better potato areas for four to six usable years. Its substantial, deep entrenching root structure enables it to withstand long periods without rainfall, and is a rich source of organic matter and nitrogen. An excellent preceding crop for all cereals and oil plants.
