The rapid emergence of the oats and development of its substantial root structure enable the acquisition of nutrients even in poorer soil conditions. It serves as a solid underpinning for field peas and sweet peas. These in turn enrich the soil with the entire plants’ biomass and nitrogen produced by their nodule bacteria. They are excellent at interrupting the sowing succession. Requires frequent seeding at the end of July or at the beginning of August.
